The earliest memories I have of fun things in my life are riding horses,
twirling a baton and dancing.
I still enjoy two of the three...
lost the baton
many years ago!
My friend Scott Lappin has a phrase: To live is to dance, to dance is to
live.
I totally agree.
This website came about as an idea from another friend who told me that my
dance newsletter was too much work every week. He told me to create a website
and just send out updates. Sending out updates is still a lot of work, but I
liked the idea of a website. As I have no idea about how these things work... it
is another labor of love from my friend Geoff. Thanks so much.
Dancing is my passion in life. I have said many times over the years that
"Dancing is the best "drug" on the planet." I am totally addicted and don't ever
want to find an antidote! This sport is a great equalizer. There are
participants of all ages, nationalities and financial levels who come together
for the love of dancing. They don't care who you are, what you do for a living
and most of the time don't even know your last name or where you live and yet
they consider you a good friend. This is the strange and wonderful world of
dancing. Welcome to the family!
For any men who are reading this... let me tell you that a man who can
dance is a hot commodity. Women will line up to dance with you as long as you
smile and give us your best effort. We will be supportive as you learn to be a
leader and will cheer your victories and tell you not to worry about mistakes.
We all had to start at the beginning and everyone learns at a different pace.
What other sport can you play where within five minutes of entering a room you
can have the woman of your choice in your arms, move with her around a floor
with music and soft lighting and create moves that may get you slapped "off the
floor", but when the song ends you get a "Thank You. please ask me again." Puts
a whole new view on something that you probably fought "tooth and nail" to
avoid! In the words of my friend Bruce - a former football player - It's a whole
lot more fun to line-up in the ballroom with a group of ladies than the guys on
the field that are just interested in pounding me into the turf! Sounds like a
"no-brainer" to me!
I want to share the joy of dancing with everyone who visits this website.
Please feel free to ask questions and sign our guestbook!
I always sign my e-mails with Hugs, Lisa ;-) I do this because hugs are a
very important part of life. You need at least 8 hugs a day for good health. So
let's share health and happiness by sharing hugs. Add a random act of kindness
every day and let's change the world one smile at a time.
Happy Dancing!
Hugs, Lisa ;-)
