Dear Dance Family,
I want to let you know that due to the change in service from Bellsouth to AT&T ...now to Yahoo... there have been restrictions placed on the number of e-mails generated from each e-mail address. There is a limit of 50 e-mails per hour. This includes regular (To), copies (Cc) or blind carbon copies (Bcc). As there are just over 500 of you on this group in our wonderful Dance Family, it would take about ten hours to send out the weekly note that used to take about two hours. I'm sure you will all understand that I don't have that amount of free time to devote to distributing the Dance Note each week.
I have always included the link to the website updates. It is at the end of this note and I will bet that most of you never get to the bottom of it!
Here it is up front and center. www.localdanceevents.com Please use this link in the future as I will not be able to send the weekly letter unless they change their policies.
All they have done is apologize... and not very sincerely... about the change in service.
I have worked my way from the Customer Service personnel all the way to the Supervisors and no one can change the service back to the way it was or make an exception for group lists. I can see them losing a lot of business. If I wasn't so attached to my dance007 e-mail address, I would have already jumped ship.
Here are a few remarks and comments on the events that were enjoyed in July that most likely did not arrive in your Inbox. Please use the phone numbers and links to check the information for any dance or event that attracts your attention. I don't want anyone to be disappointed at the last minute due to a schedule change that was not listed here.
The Paramount Dance studio in Palm Beach, which is run by Alec Lazo, has a nice, welcoming dance party open to the public every Sunday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The studio is beautiful and has an elegant ambiance. I left the Miami Dance Magic weekend on Sunday afternoon, stopped home to change and headed north with Pat Molnar and Steve Sandford. We danced a "3-way Hustle" as part of the show for Peggy Middleton's monthly dance party. It was a fun night and I met some new friends in our dance community.
Alec Lazo's Paramount Ballroom is located at 211 Royal Poinciano Way in Palm Beach Fl. 33480 For more information please call (561) 832-2141.
Salsa Casino lessons at Salsa Knights Dance Studio. Miami Dance Magic was great! To sign up for this event for next year go to www.coastalconnection.com or contact Debra Lynn at 954-895-5251. Get your reservations in NOW so you don't miss the fun.
It is located off of I95 and Davie Blvd. - 2615 Davie Blvd.
from 7:15p - 10:30pm. 7:15 beginners, 8:15p
intermediate, 9:15p advanced.
Cost is $10 for the whole evening
(all 3 hours or 2 hours depending on your level) and $7 for one hour.
The Club Crawl was a lot of fun! It gave a taste of the restaurants and dance clubs in South Beach. The two best clubs were the last two on the list and a lot of people were already back at the Hotel. Mansion and B.E.D. were great fun and finally room to dance! Don't miss this experience next year. It's great fun to have the VIP treatment and bypass all of the "beautiful people" who are waiting outside to get it!!
Get all the details on-line. Please let Debbie know that you saw her info in Lisa's Dance Note. Thanks!
Most of the information in this note used to cover the Ballroom community with some Swing, Hustle and Salsa added for variety! It has become more of a blend of everything recently. I try to include the links and phone numbers when possible so you can do further research on your own. This is a labor of love and I only do this because so many of you have told me that it is appreciated. It's because of the Thanks that I receive from you that this continues. I would like to welcome all of the new readers this week and hope you will share this news with other dancers. We are all brought together by the love of dancing. Let's allow that shared love to strengthen our community.
I encourage each of you to bring a non-dancing friend to the next dance you attend... no matter where you go. It is up to each of us to continue to spread the joy of dancing to our communities. We are so blessed with a great variety of dance venues and styles of dance too. Let's make sure we continue to have these choices by supporting as many dances as possible.
Happy Dancing! May we all be blessed with unending happiness, vibrant health, positive cashflow and more hugs than our arms can hold.
Hugs, Lisa ;-)

GROUP CLASSES
Speaking of non-dancers... there is a class for High School and College age students at the Gold Coast Ballroom. It is taught by Anthony Miyazaki who is the current US National Champion in the Theatre Arts Ballroom Style. The class is designed for ambitious singles and couples who want to learn not only how to dance, but how to dance well. The class begins at 6:30 for a cost of $10 and will conclude at 7:30 when general dancing will begin for the Friday night Ballroom and Triple Play Mix.
I have a beautiful and informative flyer that Anthony sent to me by e-mail and will be happy to send it to you so you can pass it on to any young people that you know who might be interested. You might even do all of us a favor and "suggest" this sport to any young men you know and tell them it is one of the best ways on the planet to meet women. If they don't have a clue, show them what one looks like and bring them to a dance. I invited a friend and he met two ladies before I even arrived at the ballroom! See how easy this is?
There are other dances going on and we are very lucky to have all of these choices. You can find a lot more dance and class information on the calendar of the SFSDS, www.sfsds.com . Let's support as many as we can. Let's have a positive week and remember to count our blessings every day.
Repeating news:
For those of you who love the dance t-shirts that are available at the Stardust Dance weekends, Denise LaBella has sent me her catalogs and order forms so you can customize your own shirts. She is back in town and ready to design a shirt to suit your personality and/or sense of humor! Please let me know if you are interested so I can give you a catalog.
I'm a part-time sales consultant for Hugh's Catering. Anyone having a party needs to check out the Gourmet To Go section of Hugh's website. It will take all of the work out of cooking for a party. Pick it up or have it delivered... no problem! www.hughsgourmettogo.com Please let them know that you heard about it from me! Call the office to talk to a live person, (954) 563-4844.
More info on Hugh's is toward the end of this note. Thanks!
More special dinner events are happening during the month of August 2009 at Hugh's Catering. Most of these dinners sell out in record time. There will be other events here on a regular basis. The price is $75.00 per person. This is an amazing deal that includes dinner and unlimited drinks from 7 to 10 PM. Once you experience a night at Hugh's, it will be your new favorite night out... guaranteed! The new facility at 4351 NE 12th Terrace in Oakland Park is sure to impress. Please contact me for more information and to reserve your space for the next special night. This place will blow you away... I love it! If you are interested in going, please e-mail me. Hope to see some of you there.
Once again, I would like to thank all of you for your notes and kind words about my weekly note. It started small and has now grown to a long letter! I will continue in this "labor of love" as long as I get the positive feedback that it is something you enjoy. With the gift of our new website, I will be sending out the link and updates once I figure out how to help Geoff with all of the work. Right now, it is his gift to the dance community in his spare time. THANKS GEOFF! Check it out at www.localdanceevents.com . Bringing joy to others lives is one of the best gifts that each of us can share. Let's keep up the random acts of kindness and continue to make our world a better place one smile at a time.
Happy Dancing!
Hugs, Lisa ;-)
